RANDOM CALL PROGRAM:

($55.00 to 75.00 per call/test)
Random call is a program created by DDL in 1988 to provide reliable information to the courts or an employer of the use or non-use of drugs by an individual. This is accomplished by requiring the individual to appear at the lab for testing within 3 to 24 hours after a random contact. The date of the random call may be chosen by the laboratory or by the opposing party. The laboratory random call administrator records the contact attempts or actual contact.

This program may be initiated by the opposing party through a court order that specifically authorizes DDL to manage the program and make contacts with the participating individual(s), or the participating individual may sign up with the laboratory voluntarily without a court order.

Court orders which do no state an expiration date will be honored for 1 year, after which an authorization form which does state an expiration date will need to be signed by the presiding judge.

Response times (after the contact) should be 3 hours if alcohol use is a concern. Otherwise a 24-hour response is reasonable to rule out other drugs. If an individual does not appear within the specified response time or if the random call administrator is unable to contact the individual after reasonable attempts (usually will span 1-2 days) a NO SHOW letter is issued which outlines and documents the attempts and contacts made in the course of the attempts.

The RANDOM CALL program is effective when the individual participates over a period of time (6 months to 1 year) and is required to appear an average of at least 2 times per month. The calls may be made 1 day to 60 days apart and a person who is required to be called an average of 2 times per month may be called in 3 or 4 times in one month and none in another to maintain the random nature.

Individuals are expected to provide reliable contact information (phone numbers and best time to contact, etc.). The testing is DDL's CHILD CUSTODY drug screen which is a zero tolerance test.

Individuals who are drug free generally have no problem participating in this program which will provide conclusive evidence of non-drug use. Individuals who are not drug free will have positive drug tests and/or NO SHOW documentation, or failed collection attempts.
